Nokia (NYSE: NOK) has made new firmware versions available for two of its ESeries devices – E55 and E52…. While we don’t have the full change log, we’ve heard a new version of Ovi Maps (3.3) is included with the updated, bringing free navigation to the users. In addition, it’s fair to presume a number of bugs have been fixed, some of the apps updated, and possibly some new features included

Even though we don’t know what’s exactly included in the latest firmware for the Nokia E52 and E55, we always advise our readers to keep their devices up to date. And while both phones should retain all your data while updating, it’s a good practice to backup, just in case (God forbids) something goes wrong.
We’re talking about a 3.8 MB heavy download, meaning you could easily perform Over The Air update. Make sure to use a WiFi connection, if you’re not on an unlimited (or some other generous) data plan. Alternatively, there’s always the Nokia PC Suite, which allows you to do the same thing while your phone is connected to your computer
