Caterina Murino is an Italian actress. She was born in Cagliari, Sardinia, Italy. Her date of birth or birthday is on 15 September 1977. Born in Cagliari, Sardinia, she initially wanted to be a doctor, but switched career paths to modelling after failing the medical school entrance exams twice. She reached fifth place in the 1996 Miss Italy contest. After reloacting to London, she fell in love with theatre and acting, saving up weekly to watch something in the West End theatre.
Returning to Italy, she studied drama at the Cinema of Theatre run by Francesca De Sapio, between 1999 and 2000. She then appeared in stage productions of Richard III and Italian language plays. She began her career in television in 2002.
Besides her native Italian, she also speaks Spanish, English and French. Since 2004, she has lived in Paris, in Montmartre since 2008 with her boyfriend, French rugby union international Pierre Rabadan.
